PENINSULA PEACE & JUSTICE

To present “BUILDING PEACE WITH IRAN”

BLUE HILL — On August 15, Peninsula Peace & Justice will present a talk and slide show by Blue Hill resident Helen Lindsay entitled “Building Peace with Iran: Religion, Culture and Politics.” Lindsay has recently returned from a trip to Iran with the group Fellowship of Reconciliation. The purpose of the trip was to try to build bridges between the two countries, which Lindsay calls building pre-emptive peace. The group met with several constituencies, including the former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami, who told them, “to have peace, we must look to the roots of the violence.”

Helen Lindsay is the chair of the Peace & Justice committee of the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, Maryland, and a summer resident of Blue Hill. The presentation will be held at the Blue Hill Library at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, and is free and open to the public. For more information, call 326-4405.
