TAKING HEART DURING HARD TIMES—“The Work to Reconnect” based on the teachings of Joanna Macy

Saturday, March 22nd
9:00AM to 5:00PM
Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church
of Portland

Discover the unique roles we all play in the “Great Turning” and the shift to a more sustainable way of life. Our Industrial Growth Society distorts our world view, but we can learn new ways of visioning, assessing our gifts and clarifying our respective roles in healing a troubled world.

Joanna Macy’s cycle of despair and empowerment work, the product of over 30 years work, engages us in life. It draws on science, philosophy and spirituality to help us identify the origins of our personal belief systems and provides us with a stronger, clearer base for making healthy life choices.

Under the auspices of the Maine Earth Institute, workshop facilitators Coleen O’Connell, Nancy Button and Sandy Yakovenko offer these “practice days” throughout the state.

Take heart! Rejuvenate yourself with activities, discussions and tangible actions for healing our world!

Workshop limited to 30 people.
Suggested donation: $25 to $35.
Bring a bag lunch and a comfortable cushion to sit on.

To register, contact Nancy Button at nancyb [at] midcoast [dot] com or call 273-3767.

This event is co-sponsored by Peace Action Maine, PeaceWorks and the Maine Earth Institute.
