JULY 31ST, AUGUST 1ST AND 2ND LOCATED AT LAURIE DOBSON’S PROPERTY IN KENNEBUNKPORT

LAST AUGUST PEOPLE GATHERED FOR A WEEKEND OF SOLIDARITY TO END THE WAR. THE CENTER PIECE OF THE WEEKEND WAS A RALLY AND MARCH TO THE BUSH FAMILY COMPOUND. ALSO, WE HAD TWO ENCAMPMENTS WHICH BROUGHT FOLKS TOGETHER TO SHARE FOOD, MUSIC, POETRY AND SONG. THE “CAMP ALEX” EXPERIENCE WAS SO MAGICAL THAT FOLKS HAVE BEEN ASKING ME AND LAURIE TO PLAN ANOTHER ONE!

THIS SUMMER WE WILL NOT HAVE A BIG RALLY AND MARCH IN THE STREETS OF KENNEBUNKPORT THIS YEAR. HOWEVER, WE WILL GATHER TO SHARE OUR STRATEGIES FOR ENDING THE WAR AND PREVENTING ANOTHER ONE; LISTEN TO SPEAKERS, PLAY MUSIC AND SING, MAKE STREET PUPPETS AND EAT AND DRINK AND BE SUPPORTIVE OF ONE ANOTHER IN OUR QUEST FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE.

John McCain will be visiting and I suspect that Bush will also show up. We cannot give these guys a free pass! CODE PINK , The Kennebunks Peace Department and others will be at Walker’s Point to welcome McCain and company.

On Thursday July 31st JOHN MC CAIN will be visiting the Bush compound in the morning then going to a fundraiser in the afternoon at THE COLONY hotel (appropriately named for the present ancestors of colonists) and Western Mass CODE PINK will be putting the FUN into John’s fundraiser!!! For those not camping, we will meet and park at the Consolidated School parking lot (like last year) and doing a sidewalk march to the Bush compound. Of course, if it looks like a big crowd I will get a permit! After the “FUNd raiser”we will head back to the encampment.
