At MCLU, we are organizing on behalf of Rabbi Moshe Wilansky, who, after a neighbor complained, was told by the city of Portland to cease holding prayer services in his home due to zoning laws. We are holding a rally on Thursday the 21^st at 5:30pm outside city hall to show support for the Rabbi. The hearing before the zoning board will begin at 6:30 in City Council Chambers. I would love it if you could all attend! Also, if it is appropriate, would you mind forwarding the attached action alert to your respective lists? There is a definite first amendment question with this issue, and we would like to show the zoning board that Mainers support freedom of religion. Feel free to call if you have any questions (774.5444 office; 807.1830 cell)
