On Thursday, June 5, 2008 Amnesty International will host a media launch & rally featuring a life-size replica of a Guantánamo cell that will be set up in Monument Square. As the Cell makes its way across the country, we will give Americans a glimpse of the harsh conditions people experience in detention.

Amnesty International is calling for Guantánamo detainees either to be charged with recognizable crimes and given fair, independent trials or released. People across the United States—including current and former members of the U.S. military and government—are joining our demand for justice.

We invite you to experience Guantanamo in Portland, Maine.
