Portland Freedom Trail Official Opening Ceremony Saturday, July 14, 2007

Lincoln Park Corner of Congress and Franklin Streets Portland

The Portland Freedom Trail is a permanent walking trail of thirteen marked sites that help tell the story of the Underground Railroad and abolitionist movement in Maine.

11:00 a.m.—Pres-ceremony concert featuring Underground Railroad and Civil Rights Freedom Songs by performers, Kim and Reggie Harris

12:00 noon—Opening Ceremony

1:00-3:00 p.m.—Volunteer tour guides will be available at each trail site

On-going—Special activities provided by the Children’s Museum of Maine
