Featuring Middle Eastern Cuisine & Music Bring your family, friends and neighbors to support this humanitarian mission bringing five-year-old Nora Afif Abdulhameed to Portland for reconstructive surgery at Maine Medical Center.
All funds raised will assist with transportation and living expenses for Nora, severely injured in the war in Iraq, and her father during their expected 3-6 month stay in Portland. They are traveling from their home of Heet, Iraq, and expected to arrive in Maine in mid-June.
No More Victims works to obtain medical sponsorships and other assistance for war-injured Iraqi children and to forge ties between the children, their families and communities in the United States. The project was developed by Cole Miller of Los Angeles, Founding Director of NoMoreVictims.org, who helps to organize and fund the effort to get medical treatment for Iraqi children in need and their families. These efforts have inspired more than 30 American communities to develop similar projects under the banner of No More Victims. These communities are organizing to provide direct relief to civilians injured by US military operations in Iraq, making their collective efforts part of a larger, emerging story: a growing civil movement of Americans from all walks of life uniting to redress the civilian consequences of the war in Iraq.
