Since mostly rain is expected on Wednesday, we will go ahead with this film.
(If the forecast should change a lot and the travel will be hazardous, the film will be rescheduled and you will be notified about that).
“War Made Easy: How Presidents and Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death” is the March feature in the monthly third Wednesday film series sponsored by the Peace and Justice Group of Waldo County. It will begin at 6 PM in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library.
Scheduled on the fifth anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq on March 19, 2003, the film describes how the US government has made its wars sound good, from Vietnam to Granada to Iraq, even when it is based on false information and questionable reasons. Author and media critic Norman Solomon describes how media and government officials, both Democrat and Republican, use propaganda and spin to sell these wars to the public.
A discussion will follow the film. The event is free; donations are appreciated. For more information, call Larry, 525-7776.
