Auctioneers say that non-profits organization’s auctions are attended primarily by their members and supporters and the friends they bring with them. People off the street, who aren’t familiar with us and antiques dealers don’t generally go to these benefit types of auctions, so the success of this auction depends on your coming and bringing as many of your friends as you can. As a young girl of four, Mariam and her family fled Afghanistan when it was invaded by the former Soviet Union. Living for a time in Pakistan before immigrating to the United States, Mariam was inspired by her uncle’s work as a physician and organizer of services to fellow refugees. | ||
