Syria

September 2, 2013 Peace Action Maine is shocked and saddened by the use of poison gas against human beings. However, we are also shocked and saddened by the air strikes the United States is proposing against Syria. We issue this statement in response to both tragedies.

Our Mission Statement: Peace Action Maine is a voice of education and a center for all people committed to disarmament and creative responses to conflict.

Peace Action Maine is a volunteer-led organization, the state affiliate of National Peace Action.

With more than 25 years of grassroots mobilizing to end war and occupation and to abolish nuclear weapons, this is an organization committed to non-violent conflict resolution and supporting community action for justice, a center of information for all who stand for peace.

One week after hundreds of thousands demonstrated in New York City, Mainers are invited to join a rally and march to connect the dots between climate destruction, poverty and war.
